Confession: I’m addicted to buying beauty products.
Last year, I reached Rouge status with the Sephora Insider program. Half of me was proud while the other half was slightly embarrassed by how much I had spent on beauty products in the span of a year. To make matters even more embarrassing, Sephora isn’t the only place I shop for makeup. I frequent the websites of Dermstore, Ulta, and Cult Beauty, too. Whoops?
With my drawers and cabinets full of makeup, skincare, and hair care, I promised myself that I’d be responsible during the Sephora Spring Savings Event. Especially considering I was recently laid off my job and I’m not even going anywhere to show off new makeup looks while in quarantine. Let’s just say that this was one promise I didn’t keep.
Not only did I shop, but I placed multiple Sephora sale orders. What’s a gal to do, though? I’m bored in the house (in the house bored) and online shopping is one of my favorite hobbies.
Based on conversations with my friends who are also addicted to beauty products and videos from my favorite YouTubers, I know that I’m not alone in this. It looks like we all made big plans to “stay strong”, but we fell to temptation. But, I have to admit, I have absolutely no regrets.
I’ve picked up a few favorites and a few items that have been on my wish list for months, plus one item that was an impulse buy (but still very worth it). All of this to say, I’m providing Sephora recommendations based on my recent Sephora Sale purchases. Check them out below!

Tools
Gua Sha Facial Lifting Tool
I’m a big fan of my jade roller and have found it to be the perfect relaxation tool. But, after seeing so many video and photo results from Gua Sha tools, I’ve been wanting to add one to my arsenal. So, I picked one up during the sale. I saw immediate results when I tested it out myself and cannot wait to continue using it. Bye-bye, puffy face!
Sephora Collection Brushes
I’m slowly building out my makeup brush collection after I recently realized just how old and unimpressive my makeup brushes were. The Sephora Collection brushes have great reviews and budget-friendly. I picked up both the PRO Powder Brush #50 and the PRO Foundation Brush #56.
Hair Clips
While I often literally just knot my hair to keep it off my face, I’ve had some hair clips for holding your hair back during skincare and makeup application in my cart on various sites for a while now. When I saw the price of these, I had to throw them into the haul. They’re definitely going to come in handy!
I also stocked up on Clarisonic brush heads, because I always need more of these! But, I’ve really been wanting to try a Foreo because it feels a bit more sanitary. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve tried it and what your thoughts are!
Makeup
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer
Laura Mercier is one of my favorite makeup brands. I find that the packaging and marketing are very chic and beautiful. I’m a sucker for those kinds of things and after hearing multiple YouTubers rave about this tinted moisturizer, I snagged one for myself. After my initial test-run, I’m feeling like it’s going to become a favorite.
Mascara
I’m constantly trying new mascaras. There are just so many out there that I can’t stop the search for the ultimate product for my sad lashes. Currently, the lead goes to the classic L’Oreal Voluminous and Too Faced Better Than Sex, but I threw two mascaras in my cart that I’ve been wanting to try. The first is the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara. None of my current favorites are delicate enough for the bottom lash. The second is the Sephora Collection Lashcraft Defining Mascara because, I mean, it’s only $12!

Skincare
Vitamin C Oil
I’ve tried several skin care products from Biossance that I really love. In particular, the resurfacing night serum and the squalane + marine algae eye cream have been great additions to my arsenal. The Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil has gotten great reviews from friends of mine and the packaging is just so beautiful that I couldn’t resist.
Lip Products
The Laneige lip sleeping mask became a regular part of my bedtime routine last year and I’m quite literally obsessed, but I’ve heard rumors that the Tatcha Kissu Lip Mask is even better. So, of course, I had to put it to the test myself. Stay tuned for the decision. I also snagged the Milk Makeup Kush Lip Balm in Green Dragon.
