There’s just something about summer. The flowy bohemian dresses. Summer shoes with freshly painted toes. Long days on the beach, by the pool, or on the back porch. Tropical drinks and fresh watermelon. Aside from the NC humidity, I love it all!
In preparation for the summer, I’ve been online shopping for shoes this week and wanted to share some that I’ve ordered, added to cart, or drooled over.
Sandals are the real star of summer. I wait all winter for the time when I can finally set my little toesies free. I may not have the cutest feet ever, but I hate feeling confined and find that usually sandals are more comfortable for me than boots. I mentioned one of my favorite sandals thus far this spring in my April Favorites, but I can’t wait to start rocking the selections below once we can do more socializing outside of the house.
Summer Platform Shoes
As a 5’10” (and a half!) gal, I struggle sometimes wearing heels. But, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to embrace my height and wear shoes that add a few inches. I’m loving the platform trend because they’re easy to walk in but still add that little extra something, ya know? I ordered the Michael Kors flatform suede shoes because fringe + jute + ON SALE = dream come true.
Aside from sandals, sneakers are probably my favorite category. Again, tall girl problems. The sneaker trend is here to stay and I’m so glad! Throw on a cute pair with a spring/summer dress or with your favorite loungewear and you’re good to go! These are perfect for days when you know you’ll be doing a lot of walking (i.e. if we’re able to do any traveling this summer, which seem unlikely, but a girl can dream).
Chunky Summer Heels
Can you really talk about summer shoes without touching base on heels? Every gal needs a few pairs of spring/summer heels in their closet for special events and wedding season. I’m loving the chunkier heels right now so I’ve been adding several of these to my cart. Which one should I get?
So, there you have it: my summer shoe selections. We really skipped our spring wardrobes this year, but I’m hoping that summer shoes will be able to step outside some and get the attention they deserve. Which of the shoes above are your favorite? Let me know in the comments below and follow along on Instagram to see how I’ll be styling some of these shoes this summer! x
